The pictures attached are up Silverdaisy mountain. It has been one of my favourite hikes so far. The trail is in pretty rough shape in some spots, but it adds to the challenge and charm.

The rest of the park is also really beautiful and it seems exploring the whole park would take a really long time, but I would recommend visiting it. There is a bit of everything there that would be good for a lot of different people. There is a lot of interesting historical information here and there are rhododendron patches which is quite rare for them to grow naturally in the wild. Did I mention the park is beautiful?

If you go make sure you are aware of bears and bring bug spray. There is also no cell reception here, so come prepared and be aware of that in order to ensure your safety.

I have been going to Skagit Valley for 18 years. I know the place pretty well and I would call it a second home. The Obelisk trail is magnificent, a really short but nice walk to see a little bit of what the woods can offer. The Canadian side has better campgrounds and nicer ranger activities, but the american side has better water and washrooms (the camping sites here are not very good, but free). Fishing is a must, you can get some awesome rainbow trout and you gotta cook 'em on the grill once you get on the shore (you can't use worm lures though!).

Very quiet and clean camping sites. Fairly private with clean outhouses.

Wonderful swimming at the boat launch with decently clear water. During off season when the lake is drained its a lot of fun running around and exploring the lake bed. It is quite a drive with sharp rocky roads but well worth it for the incredible scenery and the memories you will make there.

Beautiful Park, reservable campsites, nice trails into Manning and the summer has great programs that crossover with the North Cascades park.

This park is so beautiful. Great camping and day use areas. Only a few hours away from Vancouver yet it's the middle of nowhere. Ross Lake is so nice and it's neat being able to just walk across the border into the States without a passport.

The mosquitos and wasps are the biggest negative to this wonderful park. As long as you let people know where you are going and are prepared with enough food and water so that you can take advantage of all the exploring and different activities the park has to offer.
